The Comprag D-Series: Direct drive. Permanently reliable.

The Comprag D-Series embodies the new generation of screw compressors. Through the consistent use of the low-loss and low-wear 1:1 direct drive, we guarantee maximum efficiency and operational reliability.

D-Series compressors are fitted with a large screw unit with direct one-to-one drive in order to avoid loss through belt- or gear drives.

Application and your benefits: Why a Comprag D-series screw compressor?

Reliable performance - Continuous 24/7 operational reliability

A Comprag D-series compressor guarantees uninterrupted production. Our machines are specifically designed for demanding 24/7 continuous operation in challenging industrial environments. Direct power transmission without belts eliminates one of the most common causes of breakdowns. Rely on technology that minimizes downtime and ensures the availability of your compressed air at all times.

Direct drive advantages

Direct driven air compressors are typically compared with belt driven compressors when choosing the right equipment for an application.

In a direct drive compressor, the motor is connected with the air-end by a flexible coupling and transferring power directly and effectively. In contrast to a belt driven compressor, where a belt is adapted for the power transmission, a direct driven compressor operates more efficiently, with no power loss from a belt drive system. In addition, a direct drive compressor has fewer moving parts, is less subject to failure and possesses long operational life due to reduced wear and tear.

Space-saving

Do you need compressed air in a space-saving environment? The Comprag D-Series is the turnkey solution. Minimal installation time, maximum performance.

D-series screw compressors produce industrially compressed air up to class 4-4-4 according to ISO 8573-1:2010. Features of D-series compressors: Professional control system (A), reliable electric motor (B), screw block (C), oil separator tank (D) and control valves (E) manufactured in-house.

Space-saving

Benefit from heat recovery

Utilize the waste heat from your Comprag screw compressor as a free energy source. Up to 94% of the supplied electrical energy can be recovered through optional heat recovery systems - ideal for heating your premises or for hot water processes. An active contribution to reducing your energy costs and improving your CO2 balance.

Features and technology: The heart of every Comprag D compressor

The most efficient drive concept: The 1:1 direct drive

The 1:1 direct drive is the unique selling point of the D-Series and the key to its outstanding economy.

The durable Comprag screw block

At its core is our specially developed screw block with rotor design . It is designed for contactless rotation and maximum mechanical efficiency. Precise oil injection seals, lubricates, and dissipates process heat, maximizing the service life of the entire Comprag screw compressor and extending maintenance intervals.

Intelligent control

The professional control system monitors your Comprag screw compressor fully automatically. The system provides you with all relevant data (pressure, temperature, maintenance intervals) in real time, optimizes the load/idle cycle , and can be easily integrated into higher-level building management systems to continuously increase process reliability.

Excellent ease of maintenance

Thanks to the well-thought-out, service-oriented design of the D-Series, all maintenance components such as filters and oil separators are optimally and easily accessible. This concept reduces downtime to a minimum and actively contributes to keeping the total cost of ownership (TCO) of your Comprag compressor low.

The detailed compression process of your Comprag screw compressor

A screw compressor operates on the principle of continuous compression and is designed for continuous operation. The core component of every Comprag screw compressor is the screw block with two counter-rotating, interlocking rotors (a main shaft and a counter shaft).

The Comprag screw compressor generates compressed air through a continuous, multi-stage process, driven by the electric motor (2) via direct drive (9) in the D/DV series.

  1. Intake and compression: Ambient air is cleaned by the air filter (4) and enters the screw block (1) via the air intake valve (3). Here, the air is continuously compressed by means of the rotor pair .
  2. Oil injection and mixture formation: Simultaneously, oil (orange) is injected into the compression chamber. The oil lubricates, seals, and dissipates the intense heat generated during compression. A hot air-oil mixture (orange/blue) is formed .
  3. Separation of the mixture: The air-oil mixture flows into the air-oil separator tank (5) where most of the oil is separated.
  4. Cleaning and cooling: The pre-cleaned air passes through the air-oil separator (7) for fine separation (for a residual oil content of a maximum of 3 mg/m3). Both the hot, clean compressed air (blue) and the separated oil are then cooled via the heat exchanger (8) . The fan (10) provides the necessary cooling air . The cooled oil is cleaned via the oil filter (6) and is ready for injection again.
  5. Output: The cooled, clean compressed air (blue) leaves the Comprag screw compressor for your application.

This design guarantees a constant flow of compressed air - ideal for industrial applications.
